Welcome to Oakley Community Gardens!

Your community garden oasis in beautiful Oakley California.

Please join us in building a healthy community and lasting friendships.

We can't do it without you!

Our Projects:

Garden Plots

In March of 2015 we moved to our new location within Oakley's Creekside Park.

We now have twenty one 10'x20' standard garden plots, four 20'x25' mega plots, and three 3'x6' accessible raised beds (suitable for gardening while standing) available for gardeners to use for a nominal annual fee.

This presents a fantastic opportunity to express your own individuality as a gardener.  We are very proud of what our gardeners have accomplished so far!

Each plot begins as nothing more than a rectangle of Oakley sand, but is soon overflowing with heirloom tomatoes, peppers, squash, flowers, herbs, and more.

As long as you agree to a few simple rules, you can grow your own food for your family and to share.

Do you want to build friendships with a diverse cross section of fellow gardeners while learning together and serving the community?

Then we hope you'll come help us grow!

To put your name on the waiting list, first click below to sign up for our email newsletters, then send an email requesting a spot on the waiting list.  Don't forget to review the code of conduct to make sure this is the kind of garden experience you're looking for, print and sign the 'Plotholder Agreement and Liability Waiver' (the final page of the code), and deliver it along with the appropriate fees (cash is preferred) to the Garden Coordinator.

Volunteer Opportunities

It's impossible to create and operate any non-profit organization without committed volunteers willing to take on projects and/or ongoing responsibilities.

Our plotholders are required, as a condition of membership, to participate in service activities, but there is always more to do!

Do you know a scout or student in need of community service hours?  Do you have an idea for an improvement?  Do you have a talent to share during one of our workshops?  If so, please let us know

Future Projects:

Community Farm

One of our original dreams was to create a community farm that would provide an opportunity for volunteers from all sections of the community to work together to grow healthy organic foods to share with the hungry through local charitable organizations.

Now that we have become a project of First Generation Farmers, we have access to such a farm.  FGF is doing fantastic things in East County!

We encourage everyone with the time or inclination to volunteer with First Generation Farmers!

Future Garden Sites

As our Creekside Park location matures and becomes successful, we hope to be able to bring the benefits of community gardening to other Oakley neighborhoods.  Is there a good spot near you?
